Three senior industry appointments strengthen TA Board

Transport Australia has appointed three senior transport and infrastructure leaders to its Board, strengthening the organisation’s cross-sector leadership and whole-of-system focus.
The new Board members are:
Roberto Gallardo, President and Executive Director of CIMIC Group
Peter Regan, CEO of ACCIONA’s Australia and New Zealand Infrastructure business
Nicole Stoddart, Group Executive, Delivery and Risk and Acting Group Executive, Australian Markets at Transurban
Transport Australia Chair Aneetha de Silva said, “As the peak industry association for the transport sector, Transport Australia is most effective when it is led by a Board comprising the senior leaders of the public and private sector organisations who plan, fund, deliver and operate our national transport system.’
“We are privileged to have Roberto, Peter and Nicole join our board and have them contribute their significant expertise and current industry experience to our boardroom.”
Ms de Silva thanked outgoing directors, Bede Noonan, former CEO of ACCIONA’s Australia and New Zealand infrastructure business and former Transport Australia Treasurer; Nicole Green, Group Executive, Australian Markets at Transurban; and Pedro Vicente, former CEO of CIMIC Group for their contribution to Transport Australia.
“Bede, Pedro and Nicole were major contributors to Transport Australia’s evolution over the last few years and have left a great legacy for the organisation and our industry.
Transport Australia CEO Ehssan Veiszadeh said the new directors would help the organisation strengthen its role as a trusted national voice on transport issues.
“Transport Australia brings government and industry together to improve the productivity, safety, resilience and capability of the transport system,” Mr Veiszadeh said.
“Our members plan, fund, design, build, operate and maintain the networks that connect Australians to each other, jobs, and services. Our role is to bring that experience into national discussions and constructive, evidence-led advocacy.
Roberto Gallardo has more than 30 years’ international experience in infrastructure and construction. As President and Executive Director of CIMIC Group, he leads the group’s strategic direction, governance and sustainable long-term growth.
Peter Regan brings more than 25 years’ experience in the development, financing and delivery of major infrastructure across the public and private sectors across infrastructure, transport, finance and public policy. Before joining ACCIONA in September 2026, he served for five years as Chief Executive of Sydney Metro and was previously held several senior executive roles with Transport for NSW including Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Secretary Infrastructure and Place.
Nicole Stoddart has extensive experience in transport infrastructure, engineering, major project delivery and organisational leadership. She joined Transurban as Group Executive, Delivery and Risk in 2024 and currently holds additional acting responsibility for Australian Markets. Prior to her current role, she was a senior transport executive in the Victorian Government.
