Roads Australia to welcome 50 Fellows in 2026

Roads Australia (RA) is proud to announce the expansion of its flagship Fellowship Program, with the 2026 intake increasing to 50 participants, up from 45 in previous years. This growth reflects RA’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of transport infrastructure leaders across Australia.
The RA Fellowship Program is a nationally recognised leadership initiative that connects emerging professionals with senior industry mentors, fosters cross-sector collaboration, and builds capability in policy, strategy, and stakeholder engagement. Fellows participate in a rich calendar of activities including leadership intensives, policy roundtables, site visits, mentoring sessions, and national networking events.
RA CEO Ehssan Veiszadeh said the expansion was a direct response to industry demand and the growing need for future-ready leadership.
“Australia’s transport infrastructure is evolving rapidly and so must our leadership. The Fellowship Program is where bold ideas meet experienced minds. This is a launchpad for the people who will shape the future of our sector.”
The program has become a cornerstone of RA’s workforce development strategy, aligning with strategic priorities around productivity, decarbonisation, diversity, and road safety. Fellows gain exposure to real-world policy challenges and contribute to shaping the future of transport delivery.
Verity Turner, Chair of RA’s Future Leaders Committee and a former Fellow herself, said the program had a transformative impact on her career.
“The Fellowship is a rare program where the next generation of leaders are not only heard, but they are also empowered. Expanding the program means more voices, more innovation, and a stronger industry.”
Applications for the 2026 cohort open today, with RA encouraging professionals from across its more than 120 member organisations to apply. It is open to individuals with approximately 8–15 years of experience who demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to industry advancement.
