Transport Australia Trans-Tasman Delegation 2026

We invite you to take part in a three day delegation hosted in Melbourne Victoria, with key New Zealand transport and infrastructure leaders. Delegates will participate in two of Transport Australia’s biggest events of the year, the Transforming Transport Summit and the John Shaw Dinner.

The delegation will not only attend the Transport Australia Transforming Transport Summit and the John Shaw Dinner, but also engage in exclusive site and project inspections, network with key transport stakeholders, and attend VIP events designed to foster closer collaboration between New Zealand and Australia in addressing mutual transport challenges.

Day 1 Key Highlights – 5th May, from 4.30pm to 9pm:

As delegates arrive into Melbourne, we will commence the delegation with a Networking opportunity at a Leaders Dinner. The dinner will be a deliberately small informal boardroom style event, limited to senior executives engaging in a Chatham House Rules discussion with key senior transport stakeholders on trending and current industry issues.

This is your opportunity to ask critical questions amongst your peers and the guests in the room with a view to taking back new information.

Day 2 Key Highlights – 6th May, 9am to 8pm

Site visits and networking opportunities are the two most requested agenda items on any delegation.

Melbourne is in the midst of delivering it’s ‘Big Build’ program via North East Link, as well as Suburban Rail Loop, a host of new Transport lines and Stations opening up in 2026. We will select two major transport site visits and spend the day on-site.

That night we will be hosted at a Pre-Summit Drinks Networking event, where you will get the opportunity to unwind and enjoy meeting and greeting other RA Members in a relaxed environment.

Day 3 Key Highlights – 7th May, 9am -11pm

Transforming Transport Summit: 9am – 4.30pm

Delegates will attend the full-day summit, engaging with leading industry figures and visionary thinkers as they explore the future of transport. With a focus on digitisation, innovation, and decarbonisation, this event provides the perfect platform for delegates to be at the forefront of ground-breaking discussions and solutions.

John Shaw Dinner: 6.30pm – 11.30pm

Following the summit, delegates will have the opportunity to attend the prestigious John Shaw Dinner with well over 650+ guests. The John Shaw Dinner is an exclusive event where you will further engage with senior key stakeholders and celebrate leadership and innovation in the transport sector.

A detailed summary will be provided to all delegates prior to the event. The times provided for above are the estimated start and finish times for the delegation. Please ensure you allow sufficient time for your own travel arrangements, prior to the start and conclusion of the delegation.

Note: The Delegation will be restricted to NZ based Transport Australia Members as a priority, and an initial cap of 20 attendees. Further placements may be available but will be subject to confirmation and availability.
